Wisbech, Monday, 01 July 2019 – Anglia has been appointed UK and Ireland distributor for IXYS, a global pioneer in the power semiconductor market, following its acquisition by Littelfuse. Anglia has been a Littelfuse distributor since January 2017.
David Pearson, Technical Director of Anglia, commented, “IXYS, with its focus on medium- to high-voltage power semiconductors across the industrial, communications, consumer and medical device markets, complements our existing portfolio extremely well. Specifically IXYS brings new power solutions that will appeal to customers in the key industrial markets that we are active in. The expansion of our relationship with Littelfuse in this way represents a great vote of confidence by an industry leader in our technical and logistical abilities.”
Mark Smith, European Sales Manager at Littelfuse, responded, “We have had a strong and successful relationship with Anglia for over two years, and it made complete sense to extend our agreement to cover this new range of very innovative products. Anglia has demonstrated that it has the technical ability to design in our specialized solutions, and it’s very close customer relationships have opened new opportunities for us. Their portfolio includes numerous complementary products to IXYS solutions allowing them to offer a more complete solution to their customers.”
Littelfuse acquired IXYS in 2018, adding the IXYS portfolio of advanced power semiconductor technologies to its established range of power control technologies. The IXYS range of power semiconductors includes MOSFETs, IGBTs, high power thyristors, SCRs and rectifiers. It also encompasses integrated circuits – solid state relays, opto isolators, gate drivers, LED drivers and high voltage analog IC’s. Anglia has invested in inventory of IXYS products to support new design activity and products are available on Anglia Live for same day shipment. Anglia FAE’s have had full training on the IXYS product range and are in a position to support customers with their power designs. Anglia has expanded its engineering resource over the last year with the addition of a dedicated power engineer, who will be working with customers on IXYS designs.
